Prediabetes and Type Diabetes programs start this month. 

Did you know that one of the most destructive things for your heart and blood vessels is having elevated blood sugar? High glucose levels severely damage your blood vessels, leading to increased heart attack and stroke risks.    The Y has proven programs for people with increasingly higher blood sugar (prediabetes) and those who already have high blood sugar (type 2 diabetes).

Black History Month and the YMCA

Did you know that Black History Month has roots associated with the YMCA? In 1915, Carter G. Woodson, a University of Chicago alumnus, arrived in Chicago to attend a national celebration of the 50th anniversary of emancipation sponsored by the state of Illinois.

Les Mills launches this month! 

One of the most popular exercise programs in the world is coming to our Y! Five of our branches will join our Lakewood branch in offering Les Mills workouts. This month, we are launching at the French Creek Family YMCA, Parker Hannifin Downtown YMCA, Hillcrest Family YMCA, Geauga Family YMCA and North Royalton Family YMCA.

Hurry! Early camp registration opens for members.

From February 1 – 5, Y members and past camp participants can register early, before the public, for the 2023 day camp season. Early registration for specialty camps, which include our specialty camps (sports, tumble/cheer, and fine arts camps), runs from February 8 - 12.
