At the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, volunteers help strengthen our branches, support our programs and create meaningful experiences for our members and community. Whether you have an hour, a season or a special project in mind, we’re grateful for your willingness to help.
There are many ways to get involved, and volunteer opportunities vary by branch. Individuals, families, groups, classes, companies and community organizations are all welcome.
Find Your Way to Volunteer
There isn’t one way to volunteer at the Y. Opportunities can be tailored to your interests, skills, availability and the needs of your local branch.
You might:
- Coach youth sports or assist with a team
- Support a swim team
- Serve as a YMCA Ambassador at select branches
- Help at YMCA events and community activities
- Serve on a branch board or committee
- Help with a branch beautification or landscaping project
- Paint, organize, build or complete a special project
- Bring your coworkers, classmates, friends or community group together for a service project
- Share a skill, talent or area of expertise that could benefit the Y

Looking for a meaningful way to bring your group together?
The Y welcomes companies, schools, classes, families, community organizations, faith-based groups and other teams interested in volunteering together. Projects might include landscaping and beautification, painting, murals, organizing spaces or other hands-on projects that help make our Y facilities welcoming places for the community.
