  • Making a gift of securities or mutual funds offers you the chance to support our work while realizing important benefits for yourself.
  • When you donate appreciated securities or mutual funds you have held more than one year to us in support of our mission, you can reduce or even eliminate federal capital gains taxes on the transfer. You may also be entitled to a federal income tax charitable deduction based on the fair market value of the securities at the time of transfer.

  • Eligible individuals age 70½ or older may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from their IRA, subject to current IRS annual limits, without having to pay income taxes on the amount.
  • Since the gift doesn't count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
  • IRA payments can be mailed to: YMCA of Greater Cleveland 1501 Euclid Ave, Suite 800, Cleveland, OH 44115. Attn: Megan DeFranco.
    Our EIN number is 34-0714728.

  • Some corporations match employee gifts as part of their philanthropic efforts. If you volunteer with us, your employer may also provide us with a grant as a way to recognize your ongoing support.

  • The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your gift is tax-deductible. When you give to the Y, 100% of your contribution stays in your community, impacting people in our local neighborhoods.

  • By including the YMCA of Greater Cleveland in your will or estate plans, you can create a lasting legacy that helps strengthen our community for generations to come.
  • Planned gifts allow you to support the causes you care about while potentially providing financial and tax benefits for you and your loved ones. Contact Megan DeFranco mdefranco@clevelandymca.org to learn more about legacy giving opportunities.
  • Whether you're updating an existing estate plan or creating a new one, a planned gift can help ensure that future generations have access to YMCA programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

  • Naming the YMCA of Greater Cleveland as a beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy, or other financial account is a simple way to make a lasting impact without changing your will or trust.
  • Beneficiary gifts are easy to update and may provide tax advantages for your estate while helping ensure future generations have access to YMCA programs and services.
