Master a Traditional Chinese Marial Art

Praying Mantis Kung Fu (Tanglangquan) is a traditional Chinese martial art known for its efficient hand techniques, coordinated footwork, and practical self-defense principles. Rather than relying on high kicks or brute strength, Praying Mantis emphasizes timing, precision, balance, and whole-body movement.

At the YMCA, Praying Mantis Kung Fu is taught in a safe, non-competitive format that allows students to progress at their own pace while building lifelong skills. Our Praying Mantis Kung Fu program offers a low-impact, beginner-friendly approach to martial arts that improves mobility, coordination, focus, and overall fitness—without the high-impact demands of many modern combat sports.

  • We provide what you need: No uniforms or special equipment required
  • From beginner to expert martial artists welcome
  • Great for youths, teens, adults and families!
