Y-Haven residents and staff working on the courtyard gardem

Mission Moment: Y-Haven Courtyard Project

Y-Haven, a program of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, provides housing, addiction treatment and other supports to 250 women and men who are homeless, re-entering the community from incarceration and those seeking to recover from opioid addiction.

With the help of a generous grant, Y-Haven recently expanded a backyard courtyard where residents can safely gather, socialize and relax. The courtyard has fencing, shelter and furniture - now we want to make the backyard beautiful.

Our design plan, generously provided by our new friend Jim McKnight, calls for trees, grasses, bushes, raised gardens and brick pavers. The cost of materials and specialized labor is $28,000. The majority of labor will be done by volunteers and Y-Haven residents.

Consider donating to the Y-Haven Community Fund which will enable us to create a beautiful space for the beautiful people we service.
