Strengthening Families Through Shared Experiences 

YMCA Adventure Guides and Adventure Princesses are parent-child programs designed to strengthen relationships through shared activities, outdoor adventures, and meaningful time together.

These programs create opportunities for one-on-one bonding between parents and their children while building friendships, confidence, and lasting memories.

Two Programs, One Purpose 

The YMCA offers two complementary programs under the Adventure program umbrella: 

Adventure Guides (Boys) 

Adventure Guides is designed for parents and their sons to connect through activities such as camping trips, group outings, and hands-on experiences. The program emphasizes teamwork, responsibility, and building strong character. 

Adventure Princesses (Girls) 

Adventure Princesses provides a similar experience for parents and their daughters, focusing on creating meaningful connections through shared adventures, traditions, and community involvement. 

What to Expect 

Families participating in Adventure Guides and Adventure Princesses can expect: 

  • Monthly meetings with local groups (“outposts”)
  • Outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and events
  • Opportunities for parent-child bonding
  • Community service and leadership development
  • Traditions and experiences that build lasting memories 

These programs are designed to be flexible, allowing families to participate in activities that fit their schedules.
