At the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, our commitment goes beyond physical fitness — we believe in supporting the whole person: spirit, mind and body. We begam offering this service at our Hillcrest Family YMCA and Warrensville Heights Family YMCA, and now we’re expanding to other branches.
What We Offer
- Individual and group support — Our licensed counselors provide both one-on-one and group sessions to help with grief, anxiety, stress, depression, addiction and other mental-health or life-challenges.
- Educational workshops — We host workshops for all ages on topics such as stress management, coping strategies and mental-health awareness.
- Personalized mental-wellness plans — Building on a successful pilot at Hillcrest, we now offer individualized plans at both branches, tailored to the needs of each person and community.
- Staff training and behavioral-health support — YMCA staff are trained to offer behavioral-health triage and support so you can receive help in a caring, knowledgeable environment.
- Community support & resources — Through partnerships with local leaders and stakeholders, we’re building a community hub for mental wellness, working to reduce stigma and increase access to mental-health resources.
Why this matters
More than ever, many of us are navigating pressure, uncertainty and stress. The Y recognizes that true well-being isn’t just about exercise or hobbies — it’s about emotional resilience, a sense of belonging and mental strength. Our mental-wellness services make it possible for every member of our community to access professional support — for free, in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Combining mental-wellness support with our wide range of fitness, aquatic, and social-connection offerings means the Y is uniquely positioned to help you nurture your spirit, mind and body — all under one roof.
