YMCA Volunteers

Each year at Founder’s Day, the YMCA of Greater Cleveland honors outstanding volunteers who make a difference in the lives of our members and communities. The Community Impact Award is given to individuals who inspire us by giving their time, talent, and energy to support their neighborhood Y. Congratulations to this year’s honorees:

  • French Creek and West Shore: Nora Bruder and Juliana Cerny created the Girls on the Turf Flag Football Fest, empowering girls to compete, lead, and thrive while raising visibility for girls flag football.
  • Garrettsville: Nick Schkurko has shared his many talents—from painting courts and equipment to grilling for tournaments—helping the Y and its members in countless ways.
  • Geauga: Herb Hall and Fabian Ferreri keep the branch running strong, volunteering their engineering and craftsman skills to repair and restore equipment for more than a decade.
  • Hillcrest: Lily “DJ Lily Jade” Goodwin(not pictured) is a young leader and performer who brings contagious energy to Y events and inspires other kids to do their best.
  • Lakewood: Kelly Jablonowski is a dedicated board member who brings passion, energy, and leadership to fundraising and community engagement efforts at the Lakewood Y.
  • North Royalton: Nick Kishmarton coaches Junior Cavs basketball and leads Adventure Guides, teaching teamwork and building family connections through Y programs.
  • Parker Hannifin Downtown: Keith Rintamaa (not pictured) is a longtime board member and generous supporter whose leadership and commitment have strengthened the Y for more than a decade.
  • Warrensville Heights: David Thompson coaches youth basketball and provides equipment, jerseys, and scholarships so that every child can participate and succeed.
  • West Park-Fairview: Officers Kerry Adams and JR Bellomy partner with the Y to host toy drives, family events, and programs that build trust and strengthen community connections.
  • Y-Haven: Dr. Gregory X. Boehm has volunteered for more than 20 years, providing psychiatric services and support to residents in recovery.
  • Youth Development: Jennifer Woznicki (not pictured) is an engaged parent leader whose involvement has helped Y-Clubs achieve top ratings and create joyful experiences for children.

These volunteers remind us that the YMCA is not just a place, but a community strengthened by service, compassion and commitment. We are grateful for each and everyone of them!
