As we look back on 2025, this Mission Moment is dedicated to the remarkable staff of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland. They are the heart of our organization, bringing our mission to life each day through their compassion, professionalism and deep commitment to serving others.
Being a mission-driven Y staff member is about more than a job or a title. It reflects shared values and a genuine belief in our purpose: to put Christian principles into practice through programs that strengthen spirit, mind and body for all. Across branches, departments and roles, our staff are united by one common thread—a passion for helping others thrive and feel a true sense of belonging.
This year, their impact extended well beyond their daily responsibilities. Staff members organized drives to collect hygiene products for local shelters and food for families experiencing hunger. They supported at-risk youth by helping build trust and positive relationships within the community. They reached out to individuals facing isolation, offering connection, encouragement and hope. Every day, they celebrated member successes, listened with empathy, and showed up for people when it mattered most.
The YMCA is often described as more than a place to swim or work out, and that’s because of our staff. They create welcoming spaces where well-being is nurtured, relationships are built, and everyone feels valued.
