It's not too soon to register for BASE and Preschool
The YMCA of Greater Cleveland's Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) and Preschool programs deliver Y-quality care and youth development. We strongly encourage anyone interested in these services for next school year to register as soon as possible while spaces remain. Here is more information:
Before and After School Enrichment: We help hundreds of children every day reach their fullest potential in a welcoming, supportive environment. By incorporating the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into all of our youth programs, we give children the solid foundation they need to thrive. You will find:

- Dedicated, well-trained staff

- Financial assistance for those who qualify
- Access to other YMCA programs
- Children have the opportunity to swim monthly at the YMCA
- These centers provide a 1:18 child to instructor ratio
Our BASE Curriculum: Our school-age program offers fun weekly themes that align with Ohio's Common Core K-12 state standards. The curriculum includes activities in the following areas:
- Arts & humanities
- Character development
- Large motor & fitness
- Literacy
- Science and Math
- STEM
- Nutrition
- Service Learning Projects.
Preschool at the YMCA is like a home away from home, where kids ages 3 – 5 years of age laugh, learn, explore and grow in the outdoors while creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime. You will find:
- 1:12 child to instructor ratio
- Nutritious snacks provided
- Swimming
- Dedicated, well-trained counselors
- Financial assistance is available for those who qualify
- Toddlers accepted at select locations
Our Preschool Curriculum: Our preschool programs focus on preparing children for kindergarten. Our curriculum is based on school readiness skills and is aligned with the Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning and Development Standards. Key components include literacy, mathematics, science, social and emotional development, problem-solving, health and diversity. Our preschools help children grow in all developmental areas to gain the skills they will need as they go through life!
