Nestled within the Y-Haven program, a multi-million-dollar renovation is breathing new life into the very halls that have been instrumental in guiding countless individuals toward recovery and stability.
Since its inception in 1993, Y-Haven has been a cornerstone of support for those battling substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders. With its residential treatment programs and transitional housing, it has been a haven for thousands seeking solace and a path to sobriety.
However, the floors of the building housing Y-Haven, a Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority facility, had seen better days. Recognizing the need for revitalization, plans were set in motion for a comprehensive renovation project spanning all the floors that Y-Haven occupies.
The ambitious endeavor, projected at a cost of $7 million, aims to breathe new life into the facility. Three floors are slated for extensive renovations, while a fourth floor is earmarked for transformation into a vibrant community commons area. The vision is not merely to refurbish but to create an environment that fosters healing, connection, and growth.
We’re delighted to report that over 92 percent of the necessary funds have already been secured. Contributions have come from a variety of sources, including opioid settlement funds, County ARPA funds, the State capital budget, and generous private donors.
Excitement fills the air as the first floor nears completion, which is anticipated for this coming June. Subsequent floors will follow suit every six months, culminating in the unveiling of the eagerly awaited community commons.
