We're dedicating the last Mission Moment of 2023 to our staff. The qualities of a mission-focused staff member at the YMCA of Greater Cleveland combine personal values, professional skills and a commitment to the organization's mission and values. Indeed, while the specific duties of a Y staff member can vary widely depending on their role and the branch or department they work in, they have one thing in common. Each day, our staff members deliver on our mission of putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Beyond their regular duties in our branches, in 2023, staff members collected hygiene products for area shelters. They gathered food for those in need across our region. They engaged at-risk youth and made positive connections between teens and police officers. They spent quality time with people suffering from isolation and loneliness. They celebrated successes with members and lent an ear and encouraging words to those enduring difficult times.
You often hear that the YMCA is more than a swim and gym; our staff is a big reason why. They make our Y a community that welcomes all. Be sure to thank the staff members who make your life a little brighter, your day a little lighter, and your smile a little bigger.
