The YMCA will customize a program package for your workplace wellness needs. Our evidence-based programs are designed to prevent chronic diseases, which are the leading cause of increases in your health care costs.
YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program
The yearlong YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a highly effective evidence-based program that helps those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes adopt and maintain healthy lifestyle by eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing a modest amount of weight.
The YMCA Real You® Weight Loss Program
The YMCA of Greater Cleveland’s 8-week evidence-based Real You® Weight Loss Program will guide your employees to achieving their weight loss goals through nutrition counseling, group activities, and homework assignments. Online tools are used to monitor activity, food and water intake.
YMCA Healthy Weight and Your Child
The YMCA Healthy Weight and Your Child is an evidence-based program that engages the whole family, so together they can understand how the home environment and other factors influence the choices that lead to a healthy weight. Evidence proves that child weight management programs are more effective when the whole family is involved in adopting healthier habits.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
This twelve-week program designed for adult cancer survivors focuses on the individuals who are at the transitional phase between completing cancer treatment and the shift to feeling physically active and emotionally strong enough to attempt to return to their normal life.
HEALTH EDUCATION SERVICES
Work one-on-one with a registered dietitian to makeover your way of eating.
Certified experts will guide your employees through “mind and mood type classes to help reduce stress and anxiety.
Worksite Lunch and Learn
Our wellness professionals will bring informative and interactive presentations to your workforce on a wide array of topics.
On-Site Group Exercise
Our nationally-certified group exercise instructors can conduct classes at your worksite. Class formats can be customized to suit employee preferences, equipment, and facility space. Popular formats include Yoga, Pilates, Body Sculpting, Zumba®, Boot Camp, and Sweatless Express.
Because no two people are alike, certified personal trainers will design and conduct personalized exercise programs for your employees. Individual, partner, and small group options are available.
Corporate Wellness Challenges
Four to twelve week fitness challenges designed to encourage functional movement for all populations. The challenges are structured so that participants can move within beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of exercise. Participants have the ability to interact with each other as well as offer encouragement via online tools.
hChoices Support Groups and Core Classes
Detailed educational classes and support groups offered at no charge to help you better take control of your life. YMCA focuses on delivering the right intervention at the right time to help you live a healthy lifestyle.
Bio Action Program
Advanced biometric testing. Consult with our onsite medical staff and build a program around your unique bio-markers.
Volunteer in a YMCA program. Become a mentor, support the STEM program, be a youth sports coach, be a teen mentor. Countless volunteer opportunities are available.

How is Y’s Choice different from other corporate wellness programs?
Y’s Choice not only enables companies to identify the risk factors specific to their employee population, but to also benefit from the significant lifestyle and behavior change expertise of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland. We understand what it takes to make employee wellness programs successful. We know that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work. The Y’s Choice program allows employers the ability to personalize their solutions to their employees’ needs and the risk factors affecting their wellness. Y’s Choice connects employees to the local resources they need to improve their health. Unlike other programs, Y’s Choice allows companies to retain their own data, for greater continuity of workforce health measurement year-over-year.
Who can participate in Y’s Choice?
We work with employees of all backgrounds; from executives to sales teams to manufacturing and more. Current pricing model is based on companies with at least 200 employees.
What does the Y’s Choice program include?
• Health Risk Assessment and Biometric Screening
• Evidence-based data analytics and risk stratification
• Aggregate results reporting to employer
• Health coaching through our certified health coaches and exercise physiologists
• Two custom onsite programs offered annually
• Targeted programs/services delivered at the individual level
• Ongoing program strategy and support
• Personal health dashboard for each employee
• Memberships to the YMCA of Greater Cleveland
• Access to all of our 12 branches, making it convenient
for employees to access the Y closer to their home.
Who performs the biometric screening?
The YMCA of Greater Cleveland has partnered with health care partners for on-site biometrics, which include height, weight, waist circumference, body mass index, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure. Employees will also receive one-on-one health coaching at the time of screening to ensure they understand their results.
How is the data stratified?
Information provided by employees completing the HRA and/or biometric screening is entered into a confidential database that is HIPAA compliant. This information is analyzed using a scoring system to produce the personal health report.
Does Y’s Choice replace my current wellness program?
Y’s Choice is designed to both enhance your current program and/or help you build a new program as needed. Our focus is helping employees who are at greatest risk for preventable health issues such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, and stress.
What if I don’t have a current wellness program?
We will work closely with you and your benefits consultant/team to design an overall wellness program that includes data collection, aggregate risk analysis, strategy development, one-on-one interventions and behavior modification programs and results tracking.
We also have the ability to create incentive structure for your employees.
Is the employee’s health information protected?
Employers are only provided aggregate data needed to address specific risk factors that can increase health care costs, reduce productivity and cause unnecessary illness. Employers will never have access to an individual’s personal health information. The entire program is HIPAA compliant.
*Program is available for employers with less than 200 employees.
Employee base may impact availability of aggregate reporting.
