YMCA Introduces Power in Pink
All-Girls Sports Leagues
Basketball leagues start Jan. 14
Have you wished there was a league just for girls, where they could learn the fundamentals of a sport and develop skills while improving self-esteem, learning fair play, and having fun?
Power in Pink is a girls-only parent/child program designed with girls in mind. The program enriches experiences through team sport and engages parents as part of the process. Parents, and especially mothers, are asked to play a role by volunteering, coaching or refereering, thereby serving as a role model for the entire division.
The winter basketball league is being offered at the following locations:
- Lakewood
- West Park
- West Shore
The eight-week program is broken up into four-week segments. During the first four weeks, one program is held during the week and there is one practice on Saturday.
You can register online for the sessions or sign up at the branch of choice.
