Strong Kids Campaign passes halfway mark, honors volunteer fundraisers at annual dinner

The Downtown YMCA’s Butler Hall was the site of the 2010 Strong Kids Campaign Volunteer Celebration June 17. The campaign continues through December 31, 2010.
The annual Strong Kids Campaign provides membership and program scholarships for more than 4,000 adults and children each year.
As of June 17, the campaign achieved 56 percent of its fund-raising goal of $647,000, or $362,569.
Matthew Cox is the co-chair of the 2010 Strong Kids Campaign and Amy Kocian is the director.
The Association Office continues to work toward achieving its campaign goal of $255,000. To date, $95,459 has been raised, and notifications are pending on requests totaling $60,000 from past campaign supporters.
Volunteers recognized for their outstanding achievements in raising funds for the campaign are as follows:
Downtown Family branch: Ray Weeden and Mike Caprino.
Euclid Family YMCA: Norma Bean, Paul Dietrich, Joyce Vazquez, and Clare Vertocnik.
The Geauga Family YMCA: Phil Prosser and Annette Munson
