BEAUTY TO DIE FOR…. A Free Health Program for African-American Women
Fox 8 News Anchor Stacey Bell and other media professionals present BEAUTY TO DIE FOR on Saturday, April 24, a program designed to enhance the lives of black women in Northeast Ohio. Topics include Llearning to Deal with Stress, Fabulous Hair… Naturally!, Keeping Your Hair and Skin Beautiful, Dealing with depression, and Nutrition. A teen panel hosted by a group of local African-American women in the media will discuss “Teens, Beauty, Body Image and the Media.”

“We Run This City” Youth Marathon Program kicks off with student training
Students who will participate in the “We Run This City” Youth Marathon Program kicked off their training regimen on Jan. 25 with weigh-ins and fitness evaluations. About 500 students, 6th through 12th graders, are expected to take part in the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon in May. Some will run the half marathon, some the 10k, but most will run the 1.2 mile run.

Free 10-Week Diabetes Education, Support and Self Management program offered
The YMCA of Greater Cleveland and the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland are offering a free, 10-week Diabetes Education, Support and Self Management program, made possible by a grant from the Ohio Diabetes Prevention and Control Program (ODPCP).

Greater Cleveland YMCA joins other Y's in providing relief funds to Haiti
The global YMCA movement is responding in a coordinated effort to address the immediate needs of the children, families and devastated communities in Port au Prince, and surrounding areas through financial support. Locally, the Greater Cleveland YMCA has also responded to the crisis, donating $3,000 to the national YMCA relief efforts.
