Hiking the Appalachian Trail for Y Kids
MY GOAL: $668
John Hill enjoys backpacking so much that his goal is to complete the entire 2,189 miles on the Appalachian Trail (Georgia to Maine), which extends through 14 states. He has 668 miles to go, and hopes to complete it in July, August and September. While he is hiking, he is hoping to get financial support from friends and family to support the Y Child Care programs. Please support his quest and our scholarship program to help his “Y Children”.
John will be starting his journey a few days after July 4, 2015.
To complete the trail 668.2 miles he will be hiking through the states of Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. He previously hiked the 1520.8 mile trail but was lonely and needed a reason to complete the hike. John is familiar with the Y’s child care program and is aware of all the staff do to get the children ready for Kindergarten so he decided to hike for scholarship dollars for the program.
The Appalachian trail covers 14 states: Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
