Green Team is a custodial program offered through Y-Haven designed to offer training and job opportunities to men and women that have multiple barriers to employment (ex-offenders, history of substance abuse and/or mental health issues and limited education).

This program seeks to strengthen urban communities characterized by high rates of homelessness through an employment-centered program that incorporates resume writing and job placement and other support services. This program offers newly created opportunities of employment for those with limited options.

Y-Haven’s Green Team Custodial Program celebrated its fourth year in 2010 with 40 men and women successfully graduating from the program. The Green Team Program is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), which assists service providers in improving the quality of services, demonstrating value, and meeting internationally recognized, organizational and program standards.

The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is proud to be one of the major employers of Green Team graduates.
