Cleveland State University Child Development Center
For the times you can't be there yourself, we support your effort to nurture your child's healthy development. The CSU Child Development Center, managed by the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, provides safe, nurturing, high-quality care so you can have peace of min while you work or go to school. The Center is located on the CSU Campus at 2428 Chester Avenue. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify and county vouchers are accepted.

The CSU Child Development Center is designed to meet the needs of each child by providing experiences that enhance their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. A well-trained and experienced staff creates teaching strategies that provide meaningful early learning experiences. Our programs are designed with families in mind, offering flexible schedules to meet their needs.

What We Offer
Infant Program
The infant classroom that serves children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 months. This classroom serves 8 children and follows a 1:4 staff-to-child ratio.

Infant Curriculum
Toddler Program
The Toddler One classroom serves children ranging in age from 18 months to 27 months. The Toddler Two classroom serves children ranging in age from 27 months to 36 months. Toddler classrooms each serve 12 children and follow a 1:6 staff-to-child ratio.

Toddler Curriculum
Preschool Program
The Preschool classroom serves children ranging in age from 3-4 years old. The Pre-Kindergarten classroom serves 4 and 5 year children that have not yet entered kindergarten. The preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms serve 18 children and follow a 1:9 staff-to-child ratio.

Registration Fee
There is a $35 per child non-refundable/non-transferable registration fee.

To register complete and return the registration form and fee, along with a copy of your current class schedule (CSU students) and a copy of your CSU Viking Card (CSU faculty and staff) to:

Registration is open for CSU students, faculty and staff and also the general community. If there is no opening in your child's age group, your registration form will be kept on file until a space is available for your child.
County Voucher Participants
Please contact Employment and Family Services, 1641 Payne Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114, (216) 987-7000 to obtain voucher approval for the center listed above prior to registering your child in the program.
