Ridgewood Fine Arts

The Ridgewood Family YMCA and Y-Express inside Parmatown Mall have a variety of New Fine Arts Classes aimed at advancing your children’s and teens' innovative and creative thinking! We aspire to enrich youth development through positive expression in the performing and visual arts.

SPRING II Session (begins week of May 7)

Spring II Adult's Classes:

Watercolor

ALL skill levels welcome! Learn the steps to create a beautiful watercolor of your own or futher explore your developing skills. A relaxing and rewarding experience!

Ages 18+; class meets Mondays at 5 pm (at Y-Express).

Adult's Dance Mix

A fun and balanced combination exercise dance class for individual adults! Different styles of dance will be explored as we use dance elements for group exercise. Try something new and mix it up! Get fit while having fun today!

Ages 18+; class meets Tuesdays at either 7 am or 5 pm (at Y-Express).

BeJeweled!

You are the designer in this beginner level jewelry making class! Our instructor will teach you the skills to create pieces of jewelry to fit your taste and style. Everything but the beads will be provided but must be
shared.

Ages 10 and up; class meets Tuesdays at 5 pm (at Y-Express).

Spring II Children's Classes:

Exploring Art

An exciting introduction to the world of art using colors, shapes, and textures. Children will learn of the use of different art materials and tools that will help to grow their eye hand coordination.

Ages 3-5; the six-week class will meet Mondays at 1:45 pm (at Y-Express).

Me & Mommy Creativity

Make seasonally themed crafts and adorable projects likes frames, cards, and postcards together. Fathers and Grandparents are welcome too!

Ages 3-5; the six-week class will meet Fridays at 1:30 pm (at Y-Express).

Imagination Station

Children will explore the basic principles of theatre, such as tone and inflection while building skills like cooperation & creativity. New themes will be introduced each week, like Pirates & Princesses.

Ages 3-5; the six-week class will meet Tuesdays at 11 am (at Y-Express).

Creative Movement

Your child will love having this class as a creative outlet! The foundations of Ballet and Tap will be explored while having fun. We will build the important blocks of skills to continue in dance. Join us for a recital at the end of 12 weeks that will build confidence.

Ages 3-5; available in six- or 12-week sessions. Classes meet either Tuesdays at 4 pm OR Saturdays at 1 pm (at Y-Express).

Mixed Media Madness

Use a variety of materials such as watercolor, oil pastel, acrylic paint, colored pencils, ebony pencil, and ink to create mixed media masterpieces! Fun techniques will be explored!

Ages 5-12; the six-week class will meet Mondays at 4 pm (at Y-Express).

Home School Art

Our experienced instructor will introduce students to great artists and works of art. Various techniques and media will be explored as they create their own pieces of art. Join us for the creative fun!

Ages 5-8; class meets Wednesdays at 1 pm (at Y-Express);

Ages 9-12; class meets Wednesdays at 2 pm (at Y-Express).

Ballet

Learn the beautiful form of dance, Ballet! Creative choreography will be taught and then applied in a final recital at the end of the 12 week session.

Ages 6-12; available in six- or 12-week sessions. Classes meet Saturdays at 1:50 pm (at Y-Express).

Hip-Hop

Children will have a blast learning both fun dance moves & how to work well with others! A recital will be performed at the end of the 12
week session.

Ages 6-12; class meets Saturdays at 2:45 pm (at Y-Express).
