The North Royalton YMCA has a variety of New Fine Arts Classes aimed at advancing your children’s and teens' innovative and creative thinking! We aspire to enrich youth development through positive expression in the performing and visual arts.

Members and guests are encouraged to try any of our adult or children's Fine Arts classes at no obligation during our Open House week. If you wish to continue the class, our helpful Membership Services Staff will be on hand to assist you with your class registration.

SPRING II Session (begins week of May 21)

Spring II Adult's Classes:

Watercolor

ALL skill levels welcome! Learn the steps to create a beautiful watercolor of your own or futher explore your developing skills. A relaxing and rewarding experience!

Ages 18+; class meets Fridays at 5 pm.

Adult's Dance Mix

A fun and balanced combination exercise dance class for individual adults! Different styles of dance will be explored as we use dance elements for group exercise. Try something new and mix it up! Get fit while having fun today!

Ages 18+; class meets Wednesdays at 10 am OR 6 pm.

Home/Event Design

Any upcoming showers or weddings to decorate for? Tired of having the same house decor as everyone else? We will explore simple & fun techniques that will leave you with gorgeous centerpieces and fresh decor that everyone will be scrambling to copy.

Ages 10 and up; class meets Wednesdays at 5 pm.

Spring II Children's Classes:

Exploring Art

An exciting introduction to the world of art using colors, shapes, and textures. Children will learn of the use of different art materials and tools that will help to grow their eye hand coordination.

Ages 3-5; will meet Mondays at 12:15 pm.

Me & Mommy Creativity

Make seasonally themed crafts and adorable projects likes frames, cards, and postcards together. Fathers and Grandparents are welcome too!

Ages 3-5; class will meet Tuesdays at 12:15 pm.

Imagination Station

Children will explore the basic principles of theatre, such as tone and inflection while building skills like cooperation & creativity. New themes will be introduced each week, like Pirates & Princesses.

Ages 3-5; class will meet Wednesdays at 11 am.

Creative Movement

Your child will love having this class as a creative outlet! The foundations of Ballet and Tap will be explored while having fun. We will build the important blocks of skills to continue in dance. Join us for a recital at the end of the program.

Ages 3-5; Classes meet either Tuesdays at 4 pm OR Saturdays at 2 pm.

Me & Mommy Dance

Have fun exploring the elements of dance with your child!

Ages 5 and up; class meets Thursdays at 5 pm.

Mixed Media Madness

Use a variety of materials such as watercolor, oil pastel, acrylic paint, colored pencils, ebony pencil, and ink to create mixed media masterpieces! Fun techniques will be explored!

Ages 5-12; class will meet Fridays at 4 pm.

Autism & Creativity

We will build creativity skills in this class through elements of art like texture, color, and shapes with our licensed and experienced instructor.
Children will learn the use of different art materials and tools while making projects that stimulate their creativity and confidence.

Ages 5-12; class will meet Mondays at 4 pm.

Home School Art

Our experienced instructor will introduce students to great artists and works of art. Various techniques and media will be explored as they create their own pieces of art. Join us for the creative fun!

Ages 5-8; class meets Thursdays at 12:15 pm;

Ages 9-12; class meets Thursdays at 1:05 pm.

Ballet

Learn the beautiful form of dance, Ballet! Creative choreography will be taught and then applied in a final recital at the end of the program.

Ages 6-12; classes meet Tuesdays at 5 pm OR Saturdays at 1 pm.

Hip-Hop

Children will have a blast learning both fun dance moves & how to work well with others! A recital will be performed at the end of the program.

Ages 6-12; class meets Thursdays at 4 pm OR Saturdays at 12 pm.

North Royalton Family YMCA Art Exhibit

Selected honorable mentions and Best of Show will be announced on or after May 9, 2012.

Works chosen will be displayed during the grand opening of the North Royalton Family YMCA on June 3, 2012.
