Lakewood Family YMCA has a variety of New Fine Arts Classes aimed at advancing your children’s and teens' innovative and creative thinking! We aspire to enrich youth development through positive expression in the performing and visual arts.

Classes include:

Art and Audio: Ever wonder how they make music and sound for movies and plays? Audio is an art, learn the basics to create your own sound effects and edit music for live dance, theatre, and movies.

Date: Mondays from 9/5-10/9

Time: 7-7:45 p.m.

Ages: 15-18

* Prices: $20 for Member and $40 for Program Member

Cartoon Craze: Have you always wanted to know how to draw your favorite animated characters? Come learn basic drawing techniques and replicate tons of characters from popular cartoons and animated movies!

Date: Fridays from 9/5-10/9

Time/Age:

5:00-5:45 (6-10 year olds)

6:00-6:45 (10-13 year olds)

*Prices: $20 for Member and $40 for Non-Program Member

Intro to Acting/Theatre Basics: Let your inner actor shine through! Learn basic acting techniques and play fabulous theater games! You'll cover monologues, scene study, some technical theatre basics and more!

Date: Mondays from 9/5-10/9

Time/Age: 5-5:45 p.m. (8-10 years old)

6-6:45 p.m. (10-15 years old)

*Prices: $20 for Member and $40 for Non-Program Member

Showstoppers Dance Party!: Love the Theatre? Dance moves from Music Videos? Come learn the basic fundamentals including dance moves from Glee, High School Musical, and other popular Music Videos!

Date: Saturdays from 9/5-10/9

Time: 1-1:45 p.m.

Ages: 6-12

*Prices: $20 for Member and $40 for Program Member
