At any point this season, If the Tuesday game is rained out, we will be moving the games to Thursday Nights

Times: Games are played on Saturdays. Ages 7 & up have one hour practice during week on either Wednesday or Thursday evenings.

AAU BASKETBALL

The YMCA is providing an opportunity designed for kids grades 5 though 12 to develop their skills for the next level of basketball. Some of the top players in our area use AAU basketball to further develop their basketball skills. The program is staffed by college experienced coaches who are devoted to teaching the game of basketball.

PRACTICES: twice a week 6 PM or later usually on Tuesday and Fridays at West Shore YMCA.

COST: $300 includes tournament entry fees, gym time, jerseys, and shorts.

YMCA Youth Super Sport Classes

The YMCA Youth Super Sports Classes feature a “games approach” to learning and provide an array of innovative resources designed to not only teach sports skills more effectively but also to teach young people to become better adults. The curriculum includes sports tactics, sports skills, rules and traditions of the sport, fitness and safety concepts and character development.

Spring I: March 26th - May 6th

Sping II: May 7th- June 17th

The program is divided into three age groups:

YMCA Tot Classes are for even the most fidgety toddlers ages 3-4. It is designed to work on basic skill development so that your preschooler becomes more confident in their sporting abilities while building positive self-esteem. They are involved in non-competitive team activities and learn intellectual and social skills such as listening and following directions.

Challenger Soccer Camp

The French Creek Family YMCA has partnered with Challenger Sports to provide a quality, youth development soccer camp in the spring of 2012.

The 8 week camp will run from April 16 through June 4, on Sunday evenings, and will provide players with a structured and continuous training program. This program will complement the regular spring season, and will emphasize the fundamentals of the game, including PASSING, CONTROL, SHOOTING, and DRIBBLING, with the main focus on developing your child through technical practices.

Each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British coaching staff, flown to the US to exclusively work on this camp. This year Challenger’s staff will coach over 120,000 players between the ages of 3 and 18.

This unique program will be open to players ages 5 through 12 on a first come, first served basis…so sign up soon! Sessions will be filling up!!!
