The French Creek YMCA is proud to offer Mini and 6 week mini sessions designed for new comers to our programming and also for those that have wanted to try a class but not sure if they want to commit to the full Arts and Humanities session we offer every Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. There are classes for everyone in the family, from ages 18 months through adult, in dance, baton/ribbon, theatre and art, and are all beginner to intermediate levels and are a great way to sample what the French Creek YMCA Arts and Humanities Department has to offer.

6 Week Mini Dance Sessions

*All 6 week dance classes require comfortable clothing, socks and athletic shoes*

Me &Mommy Groovin’ Ballet - (ages 18 months to 3 with parent) Come and play with your itty bit all while working with them to build motor development and social skills. Parents are actively involved in this class.

I Can Dance (Ages 3-5) If your little one loves to dance, this class is agreat introduction to our Creative Movmeent and Jazzy Hop programs. Children will sample some of the curriculum from these 2 most popular classes for itty bits.

Dance Sampler (Ages 6-9) Want to try Ballet? Maybe Hip Hop?Maybe Jazz? This class is a great mix of all 3 forms of dance. Every 2 weeks will concentrate in a new style. Great for the aspiring dancer not sure of what style to study in our normal running session.

Adult Jazz/Ballet (Ages 18 and up) Always wanted to dance but never had the opportunity when you were younger? Or have you been itching to get back into dance after stopping years ago? Get a great cardio/stretch workout while having lost of fun!

Mini Arts & Crafts Sessions

Text Box: Our Arts and Crafts classes are very popular for members of all ages. Our normal running session classes offer general Arts and Crafts classes where each week students learn a new art form and have numerous projects made at the end of the session. The 6 week offerings are designed for specific interest themes ranging from fun themes to basic mediums.

The following is a list of supplies that each child needs to provide for class and is needed in order to supplement their development in the program. This kit must be brought to each class.

Crayons
Scissors
Glue stick (2)
Markers
Smock or old shirt

Cupid’s Corner - (ages 5-10) Come and make adorably, awesome valentines and crafts for your friends in this 2 hour mini session.

Snow Fun (Ages 5-10) Learn to make fun winter tehemed crafts to warm your loved ones hearts and freeze the winter blues!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun(Ages 6-10) Love glitter, jewelry, and all things girly? Then this class is for you! Learn to make diva-fabulous accessories, trinkets and many other awesome crafts!

Egg-stravaganza (Ages 5 & up)! Hippity hop down the bunny trail to the YMCA for this 4-week, festively, fun class! You will learn to make several cheerful crafts!

Intro To Theatre

(Ages 6-12) Do you have the acting bug? Love being the center of attention? This class is a great introduction theatre and basic acting skills.

Ribbon/Baton

Learn basic twirling skills and dance with a ribbon in this fun class! Students must provide their own baton and ribbon which can be purchased at Action Wear in Elyria. (440) 323-4389
